Common knowledge points of sheet metal bending in sheet metal processing

小梁

Bending refers to making straight edges, hypotenuses, curves and other shapes on sheet metal parts, such as the bending of L-shaped, U-shaped and V-shaped sheet metal parts; bending dies are generally used for complex shapes, small sizes, and large output. Sheet metal products; bending machines are generally used for sheet metal products with large product size and small production volume.

(1) The minimum bending radius of sheet metal bending parts

When the material is bent, the outer layer is stretched and the inner layer is compressed in the fillet area. Under the condition of constant material thickness, the smaller the fillet, the worse the tensile and compressive properties of the material; when the tensile stress of the fillet exceeds the ultimate strength of the material, cracks and fractures will occur; if the fillet is If the bending is too large, it will be affected by the rebound of the material, and the precision and shape of the product cannot be guaranteed. The minimum curvature radius of bending part design: the minimum curvature radius of galvanized and cold-rolled sheet is greater than or equal to 2 times the material thickness: the minimum bending radius of mild steel, brass sheet is greater than or equal to 1 times the material thickness; the minimum radius of stainless steel The bending radius is greater than or equal to 1.5 times the material thickness; the minimum bending radius of the aluminum plate is greater than or equal to 1.2 times the material thickness.

(2) The height of the straight edge of the bending part

The height of the straight edge of the part to be bent should not be too low, otherwise it will be difficult to meet the precision requirements of the product. In general, the minimum height of a straight edge is greater than or equal to the minimum radius of curvature plus 2 times the material thickness. If the height of the straight edge of the part to be bent is less than the minimum design straight edge height due to the needs of the product structure, the bending part can be shallow grooved before bending before bending. The disadvantage of this method is that, It reduces the strength of the product and is not suitable if the sheet is too thin.

(3) The minimum hole edge distance of the bending part.

There are two ways to machine holes in bent parts, one is to bend first and then punch; the other is to punch first and then bend. The hole design allowance for bending first and then punching refers to the punching requirements of the part; punching and then bending should make the hole outside the bending deformation zone, otherwise the hole will be deformed and the orifice will be easy to crack. The distance between the edges of the holes is greater than or equal to the thickness of the material plus the minimum bend radius.

(4) The minimum fillet margin of the bending part.

When the bend is close to the adjacent edge of the rounded edge of curvature, the bent edge must keep a certain distance from the rounded edge, and the minimum rounded edge distance is greater than or equal to 0.5 times the material thickness.

Pay attention to these points when bending stainless steel plates!!

Due to its high melting point, high hardness and remarkable cold hardening effect, stainless steel sheets for bending have the following characteristics.

  1) Due to the low thermal conductivity and low elongation compared to ordinary low carbon steel, the required deformation force is low.

  2) When the stainless steel plate is bent, it has a strong tendency to return to strength compared with carbon steel.

  3) Compared with carbon steel, due to the low elongation of stainless steel plate, the bending angle R of the bending part should be higher than that of carbon steel, otherwise there is a risk of cracking.
