Introduction to Sheet Metal Processing

小梁

The basic knowledge of engineering drawing is the foundation of modern sheet metal processing technology. Bending processing is an example. Bending drawings are also important reference materials for sheet metal processing.

  1. When we look at the picture, we should first distinguish whether it is the first perspective or the third perspective. The Chinese standard looks at the drawing from the first angle. When encountering foreign drawings, you should see the title bar corner method symbol clearly. The drawing standard in my country is the first angle of view. When looking at the drawing, as long as you follow the laws of projection, you can easily understand the drawing.
  2. Another thing to pay attention to is the material and the thickness of the plate. The bending die should be adjusted according to the plate thickness information. Before bending, be sure to confirm whether the drawings and the materials required to be bent are consistent.
  3. Place the bending workpiece according to the main view, pay attention to the drawing direction of the material, distinguish the direction, and check whether the drawing is correct.
  4. When looking at the drawings, pay attention to the whole, not to ignore the parts. For some products, due to structural reasons, the part that needs to be bent locally cannot be displayed on the normal three-view, so a partial view is required.
  5. It is necessary to distinguish whether the bending edge of the processing drawing is a solid line or a dashed line. The solid line is folded upward, the dotted line represents the thickness of the sheet, and the side that cannot be seen is folded downward.

Precautions when bending:

  • During the bending process, the human-machine coordination should be consistent, and the operator should not stand near the machine tool;
  • When loading the material, the hand should hold the workpiece in the correct way: the thumb is above the material, and the other four fingers are below the material. For processing smaller workpieces, pay attention to safety;
  • When bending a long workpiece, do not extend the head, chest and other parts into the workpiece to prevent the workpiece from bouncing and hurting the body;
  • For thin and small workpieces, the speed should be slow to avoid deformation of the workpiece; when pressing the dead edge, the minimum angle should not be lower than 40°;
  • When the sample is processed, the scrap test must be used to meet the requirements of the drawing before it can be formed, and the process problems that have an impact on this processing should be recorded and reported to the relevant project engineer;
  • When the machine tool is working, it is strictly forbidden to put your hand behind the machine tool from below the mold.
